Time is a precious commodity

Time is a precious commodity that requires careful use and management. Some of the lessons learned throughout my career include:
- Work with “to-do” lists that include tasks to be completed during the next 90 days. Once on this list items can be modified but shall remain on the list until completion. Lists must be update weekly and reissued every 90 days.
- When concluding your work day do not simply walk away from your desk or work area. You shall be well served to summarize what has been accomplished and what are some of the things that are pending and/or may require our attention the next day or thereafter. The next work day you shall be able to start off on your feet and running since you managed to organize your day before quitting the last time.
Your professional and personal lives require time and attention. Learn to balance these dimensions carefully. You will find that working long hours defy the law of diminishing returns: the longer you work uninterruptedly the higher the probability of making mistakes or at least undo some of the good work you already accomplished.
